10 Ways To Stay Positive...

As the January blues kick in and GCSEs get closer, I feel much in need of a positive boost!
So today I felt inspired to do a post on 10 ways of staying positive :)

1. Plan something to look forward to...
Whether it's planning a trip into town or to the cinema with your friends on a weekend always give yourself something to look forward to. Then when your sat feeling miserable in maths class you can think of that exciting something ahead of you :) I always find that summer is the thing I look forward to the most.

2. Surround yourself with positive people...
If you're surrounded by people who are constantly focusing on the bad or discussing your failures then you're never going to be able to pock yourself up from them and move forward. Surround yourself with people who cheer you on, pick you up when your feeling down and bring out the best in you.

3. Eat healthy...
I'm not the world's most healthiest eater, but I always find the more fruit and veg I eat the more energetic and positive I feel about myself. If your like me and find fruit really really dull then drink smoothie! Obviously don't completely quit eating chocolate and cake and all the sweet treats you love but get the right balance.

4. Go to bed early...
This sounds really dull but I find that if I go to bed early I wake up feeling a lot more refreshed and therefore a lot more positive!

Coziest looking bed EVER!

5. Watch films...
Whenever I've had a bad day at school I find that if I come home in the evening and watch a comedy or a rom-com it really improves my mood. However don't watch anything too lovey-dovey and tragic and don't watch unrealistic films that have a perfect easy love story as I normally find that those kind of films leave me thinking 'why isn't my life perfect like that?' Find your perfect feel good film and watch it whenever you're feeling low.
Some good films are:
Friends with Benefits
LOL
Mulan (or any good Disney films!)
Breakfast at Tiffanys
10 Things I hate about You
Shrek
This is from the film 'LOL' Douglas Booth will most
definitely make you feel better if you're feeling down!

6. Have a dance-a-thon to some happy tunes...
Wack on some One Direction or some cheesy happy songs and just have a dance to them!

7. Go on Weheartit...
For those of you who may not be familiar with the website Weheartit (shock horror!) it is a website filled with images basically! I always find some really inspirational quotes and images on their and they always make me feel so much happier!

8. Learn from mistakes...
If a situation has gone wrong or you did bad in an exam then don't get negative and punish yourself. Look back at the situation or the exam paper and think 'what went wrong?' when you know what went wrong then you can deal with it and make sure it doesn't happen next time.

9. Give yourself a pamper...
Whether it's a face mask, a makeover or going to the hairdressers for a new, refreshed look make sure you treat yourself every now and then. It makes you feel a lot more positive and also makes you feel good about yourself!

10. Think positive thoughts...
Every now and again just tell yourself that you can do anything you put your mind to. Be proud of you achievements and work on your mistakes because after all nobody is perfect and your not the only one who feels down about life every now and again.

'A life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable, but also more useful than a life spent doing nothing.'- George Bernard Shore.

I really hope that you have enjoyed my post and that I've managed to give you some ideas to feel positive if you've been feeling a bit down lately :)
Till next time,

Benetint Review

I am absolutely loving Benefit at the moment! The other day I went for a little browse round the Benefit makeup counter in town and came across this great product, known as 'Benetint'. I tried it and knew I mustmustmust do a review on it!
Benetint is a lip and cheek stain. Apparently it was first designed for an exotic dancer in the 1970s...hm...
It is said to be 'kiss proof' which, you know, might come in handy...someday.. The first time you apply it onto your lips it adds only a hint of colour but you can build it up to be a stronger red. It smells of roses but I personally think it smells like Turkish Delight (and tastes like it too!) It stays on all day which is great if you have a busy day at work or school lined up and don't have time to reapply any lippy.
I was always a little but dubious of lip tints as I always find them soo annoying how I can never get them off when I want to or I find they can make my lips dry. But not Benetint, it actually made my lips feel really smooth which is an added bonus.
It's a really great product for the cheeks as well. Don't be put off by the dark red colour because when rubbed into the cheeks it looks really subtle but just gives a nice healthy look.
There are also two other Benetint colours available known as 'Posietint' which is said to be a poppy pink colour and 'Chachatint' which is mango coloured. I haven't tried these two yet but am desperate too!

Benetint is £24.50 so a bit pricey but totally worth it!
Hope you've enjoyed this review!
Till next time :)

Lets have a little catch up :)

Woah feels like I haven't blogged in literally AGES! I've missed you all!
So I thought before I delve straight into a beauty post I'd just have a little catch up with y'all as I also like to keep my blog as a kind of online diary :)
My Current I need list:

Exams Exams Exams. Hate that word. But exams and revision is basically what my life has consisted of at the moment, along with drinking dozens of cups of tea to keep me awake. 3 more exams left and then I can pay my blog some more attention yay! :)

Roll on summer...

Anyway enough of the exam talk and onto films! The other day I bought the film 'Like Crazy' and I love it! It's basically more like real life than a typical romantic film where they either tragically die or end up together forever. The 'together forever' endings always make me think 'hmm, why can't my life be like that!?' The reason I love the film 'Like Crazy' besides from having an awesome story line, is that it's just like real life. I won't say anymore as I don't want to spoil the film for you but go give it a watch! It's awesome!

Music wise I have a couple of favourite songs:
Enchanted- Taylor Swift
I love you more than you will ever know- Never Shout Never
Crack the Shutters- Snow Patrol
One Day- Asaf Avidan and the Mojos
As you can see I have a very mixed music taste. But go check out these songs if you haven't heard them, especially the one by Never Shout Never :)

So that's about it for my little catch up :) I am a major picture addict so I thought I'd share a some nice pics with you to help you in any situation that you may be in at the moment... always remember to tackle new challenges with a smile :)

Now if someone would be lovely and deliver this to much my house it would be much appreciated ;)

Liebster Award!

So today as I was reading Sparrow mint's blog, and I noticed that she had nominated me for the Liebster award! So a massive thankyou to her! :)

What's the Liebster Award, I hear you say?

11 things about Me :)
  1. I have a tabby cat called Alfie (aka my tiger) he's like my bestfriend
  2. The smell of mushrooms gives me a headache
  3. My favourite country ever is Vietnam (you probably already know this if you read my blog posts but hey)
  4. I have no brothers or sisters although I have always wanted an older brother or sister (a sister so I could borrow her clothes)
  5. Snow makes me feel claustrophobic
  6. I love travelling, it's super exciting
  7. I love watching films but I'm kinda scared of the cinema (yes very odd)
  8. I hate cheese with a passion (unless it's melted)
  9. My worst fear in life is being stabbed
  10. When I was younger, like from age 3 to about 7, I was obsessed with trains.
  11. I hate the smell of cigarette smoke

Questions from Sparrow Mint

1) What is your favourite genre of music?
hmm.. this is a tough one as I listen to so many different genres. It's probably indie rock type music as I lovelovelove Ben Howard and The Killers.

2) Which beauty blogger would you be bestfriends with if you could?
Zoella! I love her YouTube videos and she seems so fun! She could also give me some fab makeup and fashion tips!

3) What is your all time favourite drugstore makeup product?
Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer! Nothings hides my dark rings better haha!

4) Your top 3 favourite films?
I love sooo many films but at this moment in time Forest Gump, Dear John and the Inbetweeners movie.

5) Which trend/hype do you hate/or don't get?
I read on Daily Mail (don't know how reliable that source is) but apparently in Asia braces are seen as being really trendy, so mainly girls go and buy braces to wear or something like that... why though? I spent two years wearing braces and hated them!

6) What's a beauty secret that you swear by?
When I apply liquid eyeliner I use the corner of the piece of paper to do the flick at the end as it looks so much neater!

7) What's your favourite hair care product to use?

Aussie Miracle Moist Conditioner. The smell is amazing and it makes my hair feel so silky and lush!

8) Who is your favourite Actor/Actress?
Kristen Stewart. I know some people have very mixed opinions about her but I absolutely love her! I also love her fashion sense, she can just pull on jeans and a tee and still look amazing! I also love Felicity Jones, she was so funny in Chalet Girl and was great in the film Like Crazy.
Definitely recommend this film!
9) What's your favourite scent?
The smell of roses or white chocolate

10) If you could be an animal or mythical creature, what would it be?
A cheetah so I could run really fast

11) Can you really fall in love at first sight?
this is a really hard as I think it really depends on the circumstance. I think that when you see someone you could definitely feel like you have a connection to them and get like a gut feeling about them. But then again I also think that getting to know a someones personality also adds to if you are attracted to them or not.

My Nominees:
Sammy from Bellini Beauty
Stellar Diaries

Questions for my nominees:

  1. If you could live in any country other than your own, what country would it be?
  2. Name your 2 favourite makeup brands
  3. If you had to go through life only using one makeup product what would it be?
  4. Whats you top 4 favourite films?
  5. Music or makeup?
  6. If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what food would it be?
  7. Dogs or cats?
  8. What's your biggest fear?
  9. What do you rate most, looks or personality?
  10. Top 3 favourite perfumes?
  11. Whats 2 things you want to do before you die?
This was awesome fun to do and I hope all the people I've nominated have fun writing this post as well!

Till next time!

Looks I'm Loving: The Dewy Look

In these cold winter months I find my face can become really dry looking. The look I'm loving at the moment is the 'dewy' look. I love this look because it makes your skin look radiant and healthy, just the look I need in winter!
I've done a bit of trying different products to try and create the perfect healthy, slightly tanned, dewy look. Here's some products that I use and strongly recommend if you are looking to create that dewy look :)

Face
Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation and concealer
I am loving this foundation and concealer! It has a very slight shimmer to it and gives me a really healthy glow. I have the shade soft beige and I find it gives me a really natural look slight tan (not in a 'you've just been tango-ed' way though!) It's quite a light consistency but is build-able. I have naturally really annoying dark circles under my eyes and I find that this concealer really does cover them up and make me look as the name suggests, more awake, which is fab if you have to get up early and are looking a bit on the sleepy side!
Concealer- £5.49
Foundation- £8.99

Benefit High Beam
This product is amazing! It works as a highlighter/complexion enhancer, but I actually put it on my lips sometimes (bit odd, I know) as I think it looks really nice a lip gloss! Aside from my lips, I put this product on my brow bone, the top of my cheek bone and at the top of my mouth, you know, where your lip kinda dips down, this creates a fuller looking lip. I dot this product over makeup and it just gives me a really healthy glow and makes me look like I have more of a cheek bone which is great! I little bit goes a long way, so I have a feeling this product will last me for ageees!
Price- £18.50 pretty pricey but worth every penny!
Bourjois Blush
I think Bourjois Blushes are great and add a slight shimmer to your face! I'm very choosy when it comes to blush colour and I normally opt for a lighter shade as it suits me better than a darker shade.
The colour I use Cendre de Rose Brune which is like a light pinky colour.
Price: price ranges depending on which shop you buy it from but in Boots it's £5.49

Bronzer
To be honest, I have a slight beauty confession bronzer wise, a few months ago I got given a Claires Accessories makeup kit, and I know that Claires aren't famous for their amazing makeup products, but there's a golden kinda colour powder in there which I use. (It's actually pretty good!) I put this in the dips of my cheekbones to make them look more prominent. So any good bronzer that you like will do fine for this step! :)

Eyes
Bare Minerals Sundress Glimmer Eyeshadow
Any goldeny colour eyeshadow is perfect to create a dewy look but I love Bare Minerals Sundress Eyeshadow! It has such a lovely glimmer to it, especially when it's a sunny day! On the Bare Minerals website it is described as a light spring time yellow colour but I would say it's a lot more golden and much more subtle than yellow. It's such a pretty eyeshadow and makes brown eyes stand out!
Price: £14.00

what 'sundress' looks like on
Maybelline Master Drama Kohl Liner in dark brown
I think brown eyeliner goes so well with a goldeny coloured eyeshadow, the compliment each other! I love this eyeliner, it's great for top above your eye or on your waterline. I often find that when I put eyeliner on my waterline it comes off really easily, but this liner stays on for ages which is great! I don't have keep reapplying especially if I'm out and about or at school.
Price: £4.49

Lips
Vaseline Rosy Lips
It may sound boring but I love Vaseline, it's brilliant! I love the rosy lips colour as it's slightly tinted.
Price: £1.99

Soap and Glory Naked Beige Lipstick
If you want to be a bit more adventurous, I recommend the Soap and Glory Satin Finish lipstick in the colour Naked Beige. This colour is natural and goes really well with the tanned, dewy kind of look :)
Price: £9.00
I know which lip product I'd go for! (Vaseline ;)

That's about it for my dewy look! I hope it's given you some inspiration! I seriously love this look and would love to hear some of your product recommendations for this look as well! I have mentioned some of these products in past blog posts so I'll put a link to them posts at the bottom if you want to go and have a read of them posts as well! :)

Till next time!
