I bought some Baby Lips!

Although the title of this post sounds very peculiar and ever so slightly sinister, it is just a mere review of the new Maybelline lip balms called 'Baby Lips', which are meant to make your lips silky soft!

'Very Cherry'
Ever since purchasing one of these lip balms I have been completely obsessed! I have the shade 'Very Cherry' and as the name suggests smells (and tastes) of cherry! This lip balms is highly pigmented as comes out on the lips as a really sumptuous shade of pink, however they are a lot more natural looking than a lipstick which is great if you are going to school or just opting for a more natural makeup look one day.

'Very Cherry' has a very silky feel on the lips and is quite greasy but not in vile way! They do indeed make my lips feel like baby lips and they have a very soft and slightly shiny finish.

Overall, as you can most probably tell by now, I am totally in LOVE with these lip balms and can't wait to purchase some more colours/flavours!

Back to School Makeup Tutorial

Depending on how strict your school is, or how old you are, you may be allowed to wear quite a bit of makeup or hardly any. This tutorial is a very natural everyday look and I think it would be perfect for school!

Step 1.
Apply the BB cream all over your face. Simples. I think BB cream is great to wear to school as it's a lot lighter than foundation and gives a more natural look whilst still concealing any blemishes or under eye circles. The BB Cream I used is the MUA BB Cream, it's not my favourite BB Cream but is great if your on a budget and conceals really well.

Step 2. Eyes!

This is the Clinique eyeshadow palette. It has a subtle shimmer to it and comes with instructions if you are unsure of how to apply.

Here I have also applied Rimmel London Day 2 Night mascara. I used the 'night' end for the upper lashes and the 'day' end for the lower lashes.

Sorry about the chipped nail varnish haha!
Step 3. Lips
For school I think applying a bright lipstick is way to bold, so a subtle or dark rose coloured lipstick is perfect!

Nars 'Dolce Vita'

It's really subtle with just a hint of colour.

Step 4. Powder
If your prone to oily skin applying a powder will prevent you from getting shiny skin throughout the day.

Another good drugstore powder is the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder.

And VOILA! Your all ready for school!

A massive thanks to my friend for being my model!

School Bag Beauty Essentials!

I have been watching/reading a lot of back to school series recently! Therefore, I thought I should jump on the band wagon and give some school inspired posts a go!

Here are some of my school bag beauty essentials... (so basically everything besides books, folders and stationary! haha)

1) Deodorant!!!
Deodorant is a must, especially if you play sports or have gym! Personally, my favourite kinds of deodorants are ones that smell fresh and not too much like your typical deodorant smell.
If you rather have an aerosol deodorant I recommend:
Dove GoFresh Pomegranate Verbena Deodorant

I you prefer roll on deodorant (I personally do) I really like:
Dove Beauty Finish roll on Deodorant
I love this deodorant, it smells really fresh and almost like a perfume!

2) Lip Balm
Lip balms are great for a quick moisture boost but they also add a subtle tint to your lips. Here are a few of my faves!
Soap and Glory 'A Great Kisser'
Balmi Raspberry Lip Balm- A cheaper alternative to the 'Esos' lip balms
Vaseline Rosy Lips (my personal favourites)

3) Concealer
Concealer is a must, especially if you are tired and then under circles start emerging!
Smashbox Camera Ready Concealer

 4) Dry Shampoo
Dry shampoo also comes in very handy after PE and also adds a bit of volume to your hair!
Batiste Dry Shampoo in Cherry 'Flirty and Cheeky'

5) Hair Ties

The Twist Band- Tie Dye
These hair ties are much better for your hair than a normal elastic tie. They also look really pretty worn on your wrist as well if you want to add a bit of pizazz to a dull school uniform!

6) Mascara
Miss Sporty Fabulous Lash Mascara
A cheap mascara is perfect to carry around in your school bag, just to add some extra volume and definition to you eyes when your mascara starts to come off during the day.

What's your school bag essentials?

Somerset Diary day 4 ~ Alfie

Alfie is on holiday with us! I now think that I'm officially a crazy cat lady as I holiday with my cat! I just can't bear to leave him home alone for 3 weeks though! Luckily he is settling into country life very nicely...

A day of chilling and wandering around a little Somerset village... oh and reading... A LOT of reading.

Outfit
Today has been pretty chilly and I have, in general, just been lazing around... here's an outfit idea for a lazy day...

Leggings: Topshop..I love these, they look like jeans but are actually leggings. Much more comfortable!
Top: Miss Selfridge.. I'm loving cut-out-shoulder tshirts at the moment!
Shoes: Topshop..Can never go wrong with comfy pumps!
Hair Ties: The Twist Band.. these look awesome as bracelets and are much better for you hair than a normal hair elastic!

What's your favourite chill day outfit?

Somerset Diary ~ Day 3 | Fruit, Tractors and Country Walks

Super chilled day today, I'm going to miss these days in September!

Went for a walk over to the farm next door this morning and wondered across some fruit fields. It's so nice to go walking in the countryside, it's great to just take timeout and think.

I have never been a fruit lover, I'm more of a veggie girl, however the fruit looked amazing! There were plums, cherries, blackberries, red currents and they all looked super tasty! My favourite being the cherries.

Thinking I'm a farmer... LOL

Cherry Trees
Outfit
This outfit is one for one of those days when your going for long walks through the countryside or if you live on a farm (providing you don't get too muddy as this outfit is definitely not mud proof! However I do think a pair of wellies would look great with it!)

Ring: Brandy Melville (love Brandy Melville jewelry and phone cases!)
Shirt: Abercrombie & Fitch (a cheaper version of this shirt is easy to find as A&F is a bit pricey)
Shorts: Topshop
Shoes: Topshop (you can also buy these in black, so if your going to be getting a little bit muddy black is better colour!)

Do you prefer the countryside or the city?

Somerset Holiday Diary ~ Day2 | Witches and all things Glastonbury

(sorry I'm posting this a bit late!)

On Friday Glastonbury was calling! Besides from the music festival held their, which I would LOVE to go to, Glastonbury is also well known for all things witchcraft and magic. It's a very spiritual place and is basically the UK's version of Salem in Massachusetts.

I really liked Glastonbury as it was very eclectic. However, I get really easily spooked out about things such as karma, magic and all things spiritual, (thanks vivid imagination!)

Skeleton Lampost
I wondered on it to this really cool little Indian style shop. It had a Hindu vibe about it, displaying lots of pictures of Hindu Gods. There was three floors which old rickety staircases leading up. Each floor was filled with lanterns, cushions and incense.

Rows and rows of incense
One incense was called 'Dragons Breath'... not sure I'm too keen to see what that smells like!

I'd go to Narnia
In a witches shop

Outfit
For an outfit inspiration to fit the Glastonbury style, I'm suggest a bohemian style outfit!
Necklace: Topshop
Top: New Look
Shorts: Topshop
Shoes: Topshop

I like this outfit as it has a bohemian feel to it but is perfect for a hot summers day. The shoes are also really comfy for walking around town.

I have already done a post on Bohemian Style so click here to read that!

Do you like/ believe in all things mystical? Have you ever been to Glastonbury?

Somerset Holiday Diary ~ Day1| Summer Evening Sunset

I am currently on holiday in Somerset, as an only child bordem creeps in very easily on family holiday as there is only the three of us, mum, dad and moi. To curb some holiday bordem I thought I would blog a lil holiday diary of each day i'm in Somerset. I still wanted to incorporate a bit of fashion and beauty into these Somerset Diary posts so I'll be posting holiday outfit/makeup ideas for each day to hopefully give you some summer fashion inspiration.

~ ~ ~

The weather today has been a complete contrast to yesterdays! Today has been 29 degrees (which is a near miracle for English weather!) Haven't done too much today, just spent my time working my way through the book 'Birdsong', which, don't get me wrong, is a great book, however is seeming never ending at the moment! (My mum is desperately trying to convert me into a lover of literature.)

As posting photos of me reading a book doesn't make for too much of an inspiring blog post, I decided to photograph the sunset as the evenings are really beautiful here in the idyllic Somerset countryside.

Blouse: Topshop

Here is my outfit inspiration for a hot summers day of doing nothing...

insp: Brandy Melville
I love this Brandy Melville inspired outfit as it's comfy, cool and still fashionable!

Dungarees are also a really good idea! These are £29.99 from New Look and I am definitely buying these haha!

As for makeup I think minimal is best for these kind of days.

Today I wore:
Maybelline Volum' Express Mascara
Revlon Lip Butter in 'Tutti Frutti'
Topshop Blusher in 'Morning Dew'
Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer

Hope you've enjoyed my first Somerset diary post! Let me know if you like these style posts in the comments!
